Congratulations! Heres a few things you will need before your new Baby comes home.
Food~ Purina One Healthy Formula, Puppy {dry only}
Available in Petsmart and Grocery stores, Buy only small bags to start. They don’t eat a lot!
You will not need supplements.
Treats~ Milk bone Minis are great. Start with half. For treat training I use their own kibble.
Cage~ I prefer open Crates. 24Lx19wX20h {this is approximate} The two door models are great.
Carriers~These are great if your dog is not a good car dog, but most will sit on your lap for the ride. It’s a good idea to start them young so they are not afraid of it later
Beds~ for the crate I use small hand towels, easy to launder after boo boos. A cup style bed is their favorite type but outside the crate only. At one year my dogs get a bed for their crate as a birthday present.. Assuming they are completely housebroken!
Dishes~ Get something cute! You know you want to. 🙂
Toys~ Small stuffys, anything that makes noise or they can carry in their mouth, Nylabones {inedible} {Puppies come home with a toy from the pen} hard plastic toys are very chewable and I stay away from them.
Collars~ I will have a collar on your Puppy. So you can wait till you have them a bit to decide what fits his/her personality best. Harnesses are pretty difficult with the type of hair they ultimately have.
Vet care~ We give a 7 day Guarantee period for you to get your puppy to your Vet for a Well puppy checkup.{ Weekends don’t count}. Please keep your Puppy home. No parks or Pet stores or other places you may find other Dogs. You should do this until your puppy is done with all of his/her Puppy shots! It’s best to call your Vet and tell them you are bringing home a new Puppy on such and such a date and ask for an appointment in that 7 day period. Set up an appointment before you pick up your Puppy. No shots will be necessary yet, just a checkup.
